I hope you're having a great week as you can tell I don't know what happened but I have just completely lost my voice my sinuses are going crazy.

Could it be that I volunteered at a student conference last week and I'm still recovering from just the intensity with that probably could it be the Texas summer pollination or whatever you know what maybe who knows.

But all I know is that I sound crazy but we are still going through with recording this week i also just want to mention real quick real brief that if you did not listen to the freedom series that I just did here on my podcast please cue that up i've gotten so many messages emails.

Different testimonies of how it just reached so many people impacted so many people basically with the first few episodes it was just a relaunch of some of my first episodes that many of you guys my new listeners probably haven't had the opportunity to hear yet so go back and listen to those and then last week I had my good friend Jacob coin with me.

Part one and part two talking about depression talking about self harm talking about suicidal thoughts and tendencies and how there is freedom in that how there is the fullness of life despite the enemy really trying to trying to channelize us with death.

And I know that many people right now are just going through so much and I just hope that through those messages I was able to provide some some light to you some hope to you truth to you above all else from God's word.

But yeah please go cue that up anyways today as you can tell by the podcast title we're going to be talking about a royal priesthood.

Now if you grew up in the church or are used to kind of like church lingo there are many names many identities that we are given as the body of Christ one of them is a royal priesthood we see this in second Peter or sorry first Peter chapter two verse five it says in the NIV translation you also like living stones are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood offering spirit.

Offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ so we see that in first Peter but also again in Revelation chapter one verses five through six it says and from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness the first born from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth to him who loves us and is freed us from our sins by his blood and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve.

His God and father to him be the glory and power forever and ever amen we see this title pop up I know that this translation set a holy priesthood but there are many other translations that refer to us as a royal priesthood and I find it funny because my church literally talked about it this weekend so if you attend gateway church you probably already know some points that I'm going to hit on but I am reading Malachi right now and I don't know why.

I was praying about it I was like Lord where do you want me to read and for whatever reason I just felt so called to Malachi and it's it's so funny honestly how much I see resemblance in Malachi with the world today and just the abandonment of God just the abuse of God in the sense of oh my goodness Lord like why aren't you doing these things for me like why aren't you who you say you are when literally

it's humanity's it's humanity's fault that there is sin it's humanity's fault that there is struggle it is often our heart posture that we go to the Lord expecting one thing not receiving it and then blaming God but we do not allow him the the time in the place to move and to refine to sanctify and to redeem but it's just such a good book if you've never read Malachi definitely look into the context first and then go about reading it so you can get

you know the full potential of what it says but I thought it was cool I've been reading a lot about the priests recently and knowing that in Malachi chapter 2 there is this rebuke among the priests and knowing that we as believers in Christ are called to be a royal priesthood I kind of wanted us to just look at what it says in Malachi 2 about being a priest about what the job of a priest is and you might be thinking like how is this apical

applicable to me at all like I'm not a priest I'm not serving in the church as a priest I'm not pastoring I'm just sitting in the pews right like I'm just an attendee but y'all each and every single one of us is called to be a priest and what is the role of a priest the role of the priest is to offer up sacrifices to God to offer up sacrifices to God and those of us

who might be well versed in our in our Bibles we know that in Romans chapter 12 it talks about how we are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable holy and pleasing to God we have a role to to living as a living sacrifice daily to come before the Lord offering him sacrifices

and that doesn't mean you know we're killing lambs and rams here and there in order to justify our sin no that's what we see happening in the Old Testament but here in this new covenant that we have with Christ we offer ourselves up as a sacrifice one through receiving the gift of Jesus

that he laid himself down as the Lamb of God to pay for our sins but in turn there's this exchange where with receiving the freedom the forgiveness and the fullness of what Christ did
