The Chancellor has promised a £1,000 boost to our workplace pensions,

but will putting some of the funds into riskier investments really produce bigger returns?

But first, a staggering failure is how one senior MP has described a government scheme

designed to help nearly a million households with their energy bills last winter.

Angus McNeil, chair of Parliament's Energy Security Committee, has called on the

government to reopen the scheme after a moneybox investigation reported last week that three

quarters of a million eligible households didn't receive the promised £400, and they can't apply

for it now. The Energy Bill Support Scheme Alternative funding, as it was
