In Ukraine, explosions echoed overnight as Russia fired hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles at the capital Kiev and nearby cities.

Ukrainian officials say the strikes killed at least 22 people, including

children, and injured more than 130 others. The attack was one of the Kremlin's largest defenses

in recent months and signals an escalation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who appears

to be capitalizing on Ukraine's growing shortage of U.S.-made air defense

systems.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is now urging the U.S. and Europe to provide

more military support, warning that without it, the missile attacks will only continue.

Meanwhile, U.S.-led peace efforts to end the four-year-old war have stalled as Washington

shifts its focus to the war in Iran. Zelensky has agreed to an unconditional ceasefire

proposal backed by President Donald Trump, but Putin has so far refused that deal.

Also, a new flashpoint in protests over President Trump's mass deportation and immigration policies.

In New Jersey today, advocates are rallying outside the state attorney general's office.

This comes after weeks of demonstrations outside the ice facility, Delaney Hall in Newark,

where advocates are protesting what they say are harsh and inhumane conditions.

Inside the prison, detainees have reacted to those issues from spoiled food to poor medical

care by going on hunger and labor strike.

It began on May 22nd, hunger and labor strike inside of the facility.

And I think that's part of what's missing from some of the reports is that it is a labor

strike to detainees inside the facility have reported making like around a dollar a day.
