Welcome to Manager Tools. Today's show, Counter Management Part 1. Say no. Here we go. I don't know about you more but I have never never left the office and looked back and said

hmm I got everything done today.

Wouldn't that be nice?

Yeah, I think sometimes I think it

when I'm going on vacation, but it's just the stuff

I had to get done before I go on vacation.

Yeah, and you prioritized and got the most important things done, but we'll come back to that.

So no one ever gets everything done, right?

But a lot of people worry about that. A lot of people want to do that. A lot of people need to do that. That's a dilemma for a lot of folks.

Well, it's really not a dilemma. The need that people have to get everything done, I mean, well, look, first... a never get everything done every day. And here's the problem with the dilemma that people have.

When any of us think about it for any time at all,

you realize you don't know anyone who does get everything done ever.

If you have this feeling, I need to be perfect,

and you look around and you say, no one's perfect.

I mean, what kind of what kind of cognitive dissonance do you need to set up in order to realize no one else in the world is perfect ever been perfect, but I need to be perfect. I think we're beating ourselves up, right?

I mean, you have to wonder, is there some way

If you do a little bit of thinking about that,

10 or 15 minutes about it is all it takes, if that.
