They say the show must go on, but alas, the Showtime name will not, at least not as it's been for nearly five decades.

As part of the battle for streaming supremacy, Showtime is merging with Paramount and rebranding as Paramount Plus with Showtime.

A bit of a mouthful, isn't it?

Both the company's streaming service as well as its cable brand

will adopt this new and longer name later this year.

Showtime's already a Paramount subsidiary,

and popular shows like Dexter, Homeland, and Yellowjackets

will soon be part of Paramount Stream streaming app, the New York Times reports.
