Micron goes big.

Building AI requires a lot of GPUs, and those GPUs feed huge amounts of ultra-fast memory to feed them data.

That's what Micron technology makes, and they've been selling a whole lot of it thanks to the

AI boom. We're digging into it on today's Marketplace Techbytes week in review.

has been selling memory chips for all kinds of consumer electronics and recently shifted focus toward the AI market.

It's a strategy that seems to be paying off, according to its latest earnings report this week.

Micron sells a number of different memory products.

Some of them are used for consumers, for their PCs,

but the ones that are really growing right now for Micron are their high bandwidth memory chips. Those

are advanced memory chips that are used for AI alongside a GPU. So that GPU is what's actually

processing the AI kind of workloads, and the memory chip is there to store the data and that data
