A few nights ago, I had the occasion to reconnect with an old work friend through Facebook.

Decades had passed, like water under the bridge, and we laughed over old stories, then cried

over a few lost friends.

And he said he could tell from my Facebook posts that I was a Christian now.

Now, I asked him, yeah, when did you become a Christian?

Well, his question carved me up like a dull butter knife.

I'd been a Christian for 50 years, not too much longer than my friend had even been alive,

and I was indeed a Christian when I worked with him, but apparently he didn't know.

I never said or did or reflected anything around him at work that revealed my faith.

He said he thought I was a nice guy, but didn't know I'd ever given my life to Christ.

That's stung.

Who else have I known that didn't know?
