With the House on fire and shutdown rapidly approaching, something tells me Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi has a few things to get off her chest.

Remember when the government shut down in 2013?

I sure do. My first guess definitely does. But in case you don't, let me refresh your memory. Basically, Republicans like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz, a bunch of other ones, were angry about

providing health care to more people.

And they were so intense on defunding Obamacare that they shut the government down.

At that time, I was working in the Obama administration, and I thought we were dealing with the most unreasonable,

obstructionist, bad faith actors that I would ever encounter in my career in Washington.

But I got to say, this fight right now about whether or not to fund the government has made 2013 seem kind of like the good old days.

Because at least that 2013 shutdown was about something.

It was a ridiculous policy disagreement.

And Mike Lee and Ted Cruz were definitely wrong,

but at least it was a policy disagreement.
