I'm great, how are you? Good. Were you in Milwaukee for the big announcement?

I was. I was in Milwaukee all week covering the RNC for Politico. So what was the appeal for Trump because I think people would often think that a running mate is somebody from a different demographic, maybe they're from a swing state, they're bringing something that the nominee is not.

That doesn't seem to apply to Vance.

In the end, it really came down to three candidates.

And that was Senator Marco Rubio from Florida, North Dakota Governor Doug Bergam, and then

Senator JD Vance from Ohio. And they all brought different things to the table for

one Rubio speaks Spanish and could appeal to Latino and

Hispanic voters that the Trump campaign has really been trying to win over and

he has a lot of experience in the Senate and was on the Foreign Relations Committee, so it was seen as sort of a foreign policy asset in that way.
