Summary

OK kids, it’s summer and your reading list is out! Grab your flip flops, sunscreen, a good read and join the Spin Gang by the shore. My my, Todd's looking rather bronzed in his white-beater and Bermuda shorts - those trips to the tanning salon really paid off. Aimee’s shownin' off her beach-smarts in an SPF 100 denim jumper - class! As for Carl, he was last seen turning 50 shades of red seeking refuge at the cabana… Zinfandel in hand. Scandal! So clearly our team doesn't do the beach well but at least they're well-read! Hear them share what they'll be reading this summer - it's an interesting mix of theological and fictional books to enhance any beach-bumming experience you may have planned this season. For this week's Bully Pulpit, The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals would like to give away a couple free copies of Developing a Christian Mind: Learning to Think and Act Biblically w/ Study Guide by James Boice. Reading is an important part of the Christian life. Listen as Carl, Amy, and Todd share what books they'll read this summer. At the end of

the podcast, we'll tell you how to enter a drawing for an MP3 set from the Alliance. Well, as we've now hit the summer months at Mordification of Spin, the three of us have headed down to the beach with our beach reads.

So we thought today what we do is just chat about the book selections that we have made for our time, uh, chilling down by

the seashore. Yes. Todd. Yes. That's a very large, serious looking tone you have with you. Yes. No pictures? No

1:24.2

pictures, which I'm of the opinion that every book ought to have some pictures,

1:28.2

every history book especially, or biography ought to have pictures, but they don't all.

1:32.5

I'm actually going to be working on several for the summer that I'm kind of excited about.

1:38.7

You and Amy, Carl, have already read Bannerman's book on the church.

1:49.4

But since I'm not as nearly as important as either one of you, I finally got the hardback.

1:55.1

I could.

1:55.7

I just refuse to.

1:56.6

I hate it too, but I persevered.

1:58.3

Oh, no, I would not persevere.

1:59.6

That goes beyond my nature.

2:01.3

Didn't you comment authoritatively on the book on an earlier podcast?

2:05.0

Oh, absolutely. I said something along the lines of how much I loved it and then didn't say anything
