Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard. Man, did we ever take it on the chin this weekend on a baseball diamond? Like all of you, I'm frustrated. Matter of fact, I waited later in the day to see if my mood would improve before I recorded the show.

You know, we look forward to college baseball season all year. Most of us do. You know,

there are some people out there that think that college baseball is an impediment to the rest of our athletic programs, and they're incorrect.

But they're certainly entitled to their position when it comes to that. I'll never begrudge

anybody their own opinions. They've got their own reasonings, even they're not rooted in fact,

but the reality of it is, is that this weekend was terrible. It was for second straight weekend.

You know, we thought we hoped that maybe the Kentucky series was an anomaly. It wasn't.

This is who we are.

And we're two weekends into this.

We got eight weekends left,

got eight more weeks of college baseball left.

And at this point, there's not a lot of hope to think things continue beyond that.

A chance to miss out on the postseason for the second consecutive year.

Now, we felt like we had outgrown that sort of thing.

Apparently, we haven't.

And that's the most frustrating part of it all.

And we knew that the run wouldn't last forever, but we thought maybe last year was a reset for us,

a bit of a rebuild for us.

We'd be right back in contention this year, and here we are not even competitive in the

Southeastern Conference.

And I'm going to say something.

It might be a little bit controversial here.
