Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Monday edition of the yard.

The Magnificent Monday edition of the yard. Hope things are well with you wherever you are today. Things are good, man.

Things are good. We're kind of moving forward. We had some college football over the weekend, which is kind of a crushing blow for the Corona Bros out there.

And that has become a, you know, a moniker that has been pretty much accepted now in

the public vernacular as it relates to these naysayers about college football.

Some of the same people, it's so crazy, many of the same people that basically insisted and in some instances kind of demanded that there be no college football were watching college football Saturday night.

And it's like, oh, listen, this is so great, it feels so good.

I mean, listen, I don't want to hear that from you.

You know, when you sat here and told me that I was selfish for one college football,

that we were selfish that we were expecting these kids to play.

But the nation rejoiced over an FCS game on Saturday night as Central Arkansas beat Austin P.

Mississippi State, of course, has some connections to Austin P.

Marcus Lovings is the head coach, their former Mississippi State assistant coach.

He worked in a support capacity here at Mississippi State.

Chad Bumpus, of course, one of the best to ever wear the Marino White, is a receivers

coach there.

Cody Shaq Snyder, former Mississippi State punter, is working there as a quality

control analyst.

So, you know, we had a rooting interest in the ball game. But listen, the bottom line is we're rooting for college football. And incredibly, we were able to play a game and the world did not burst into flames. There are a lot of people out there that kind of suggested something like that would happen. I know it's a little bit absurd and I'm using a lot lot of hyperbole there. But the bottom line is that, you know, they survived the game. It wasn't a pretty game, okay? Number one, you know, the quality of talent is not what we expect to see in the Power 5. But be that as it may, bad football is still football. And so I was happy to watch it. And, of course, that last five minutes of the game, very, very exciting. Austin P goes down and scores a go-head touchdown, kicks an extra point, seems to be poised to win the ball game, and then they give up a, you know, a long drive there at the end and a great pass, and the game's over. And Central Arkansas wins the game. They've now won, I guess, two in a row against Austin P.

But the bottom line is this.

No matter the outcome of that game, despite the fact that truly we didn't have a rooting interest in the outcome,

college football won.
