Hi, and welcome to another episode of the Power Hour podcast. I am very excited to have a very special

guest today, Ms. Kelsey Powell. Kelsey was recommended and requested by so many of you, so we're so

happy to have her here with us. Hey, everybody, it's Kelsey. Happy to be here. Yeah, so Kelsey is the owner of

the Lace Cactus Boutique and also desert bronze tan. If you know Texas fashion, if you know rodeo fashion, western fashion, fun, bright fashion, you know Kelsey. And what is so cool about Kelsey's story is she has been in the business a long time now. She started as a young, single mom of two.

The year 2016, 17, when I actually ended up kind of getting out of the business,

Kelsey struggled but pivoted a different way and grew even bigger.

And now she's kind of gone to the season of less focus on money and sales and hustle and more on happiness

and peace and fulfillment. So this is going to be a great episode. So Kelsey, tell us kind of from

way back when, when you started a long time ago. Okay. So like you said, I was very young at the time. And, um, I guess my dream

had always been, I don't really know that it was necessarily like to sell clothing. Um,

but I just knew that I wanted to be my own boss and I loved clothes and I loved fashion. Um,

and then I really wanted to be successful.

And I knew that me, I was not a very good employee at all.

It was actually terrible.

And I knew that like that's what I needed to do with my life.

That college wasn't for me.

I'm sure I could have benefit, you know, from it. But also I had children very young too.

So my life took a different route, but I didn't have

the funds to just up and start a clothing boutique. And so what I did was, and I really didn't

actually spend a dime to start it, but people would give me picture frames or I did a lot of like these antlers

and I would cover them in rhinestones basically anything that anybody would give me that I could

paint and add glitter rindstones stuff like that too I would make it and I started selling
