| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Finding Joy in Your Home Podcast. I am your host, Jamie Valmay, and this is the podcast where we blend deeply theological topics with thoroughly practical application, all for God's glory. |
| 0:12.4 | Hey, friends. Welcome back to my podcast. We are right in the middle of the kickoff for season five, where we are going back to the basics of homemaking. I've had a lot of really good feedback on our first three episodes of this season. So thank you so much. I always love getting that feedback. When you're a podcaster, you are just, it feels like I'm sitting and talking to you guys, but I'm really just sitting here and talking to my laptop and my camera by myself. And so it's so helpful when I get that feedback of which episodes you guys really like, |
| 0:41.2 | what topics you want me to dive in more. It's really helpful. So thank you so much for that. |
| 0:46.2 | Thank you for all the feedback on those first three episodes. So today we're going to be carrying |
| 0:50.3 | on our series. And today we're talking about your Bible study toolbox and how we can |
| 0:57.2 | fit in Bible study, some strategies for doing so when life is busy. And what I'm going to share |
| 1:03.2 | in this episode is my current Bible study routine that I've been doing for about nine months now. |
| 1:08.4 | And it has been awesome. It's been exactly what I've |
| 1:11.5 | needed in this season, and I'm excited to share that. So let's go ahead and jump in. This is definitely |
| 1:17.8 | an episode that I could ramble for like an hour and a half, so we're going to keep it short, |
| 1:21.5 | and we're going to get right to it because I know all of us have a lot of important things |
| 1:25.2 | to do right now. So let's first talk about Bible study in general. |
| 1:31.0 | I have in the last, well, 12 years. Okay, so my oldest kids are almost 13. In that time, I have |
| 1:39.9 | definitely had seasons of on again, off again, of being really consistent with my Bible reading, |
| 1:44.8 | being really in it, and then absolute dry seasons. Now, I think as a mom going through having |
| 1:50.0 | babies and newborns and toddlers and all of the activity and all the work, I think that's just |
| 1:54.6 | kind of normal. I think that's okay. I think we should strive to be in God's word more and more, |
| 1:59.2 | but I also don't need to look back and |
| 2:01.3 | beat myself up over seasons where I wasn't as consistent. And there's been times where I'm like, oh, I've been so bad. I haven't been in God's word as much. I haven't been praying. You know, and you can just kind of get into that funk. And then it didn't happen again today. And it didn't happen again today. But what we can do is we can look at tomorrow and say tomorrow is a new day. |
| 2:19.5 | Tomorrow is a new day. It's a new opportunity. and it didn't happen again today. But what we can do is we can look at tomorrow and say, |
| 2:17.9 | tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow is a new day. It's a new opportunity. It's a new chance to |
| 2:24.0 | establish these rhythms and routines in my life. And it's the same when you're talking about |
