Hello everyone and welcome to the Evolve with Emily show. I am your host, Emily Hayden. And today we have

0:05.8

on Kenneth Whitaker. He is the CEO and founder of Authentic. Authentic is a brand whose sole

0:11.6

purpose is to elevate the individual so that we in turn can elevate the community around us. Welcome to

0:18.0

today's show, Kenneth. How are you today? Very good. How are you? I'm doing great. We have a lot

0:23.4

of external things happening in the environment that people on the podcast will probably hear. So we're

0:27.9

just going to go with the flow. We have yard guys trying to come in right as I speak. But that's,

0:34.3

you know, that's part of, I feel like just learning to flow with life, right?

0:37.9

You have all these unexpected things happen and pop up.

0:40.6

And the more you can learn to just kind of release control of all the things you don't have control over, the easier your life gets.

0:46.6

Because you realize, like, why stress over the little things anyways, right?

0:50.4

Agreed.

0:51.0

And in actuality, like you've got the yard guy behind you and I'm in a coffee shop. And I think we just, we make it work. Yeah, it's so true. So yeah, thanks for being flexible

1:13.4

and going at the flow. I'd like to start the show off today by asking you, what does it mean to you

1:19.7

to be authentic? And what was the inspiration for this being your brand? Yeah, I think the power for me and the importance of me

1:29.8

being authentic is I get to choose or decide to show up in my life every day in a way that

1:35.6

gives me energy. I mean, just sitting here, I'm already getting chills talking about it because

1:40.3

if I can wake up and I'm happier in my skin or happier who I show up as a husband

1:46.3

or happier in the way I show up in my community, then getting up, there's this reason

1:52.1

just to breathe more oxygen in. And there's reason to find more things that give us purpose

1:58.5

and give us drive to want to continue to share ourselves with the world.

2:03.6

I think if we're a version of ourselves that wants to keep us hidden, that's all we're doing is hiding the glory and the brightness and the light that we have.
