| 0:51.1 | in behalf of what our chapter has done, non-national Lulac Sure. Yes, yes. How did you get involved in the chapter near where you live, like the local chapter? Co-worker. Really? Yeah, so I originally started out in the New Bromfels chapter, which is just a city near Sagan, Texas, where we are. So I started with them. I live in Sigeen, so I got involved with the singing chapter after I moved here. And can you explain a little bit about what Lulac does? Lulac is the United Latin American citizens. It is the oldest Latin American civil rights organization that we have here in the United States. On a national level, you'll see a lot of articles and news about them kind of bringing up lawsuits, fighting against a lot of these laws that get passed in different states and they're just a civil rights organization at a national level and they're the ones always like fighting back on some of that legislation. That's anti-Hispanic or a little bit discriminatory. When did you get involved in SIGIN? So I've been in with the SIGIN chapter for four years now. Okay. |
