Our lives are filled with relationships, large and small.

And maybe the most important of these is the relationship we have with ourselves.

We often find it easier to be understanding, kind, accepting, and compassionate toward others

than toward ourselves.

We might accept ourselves in the same grudging way that we accept the annoying behavior

of our friends sometimes, or even love ourselves in a kind of obligatory, yeah, I love them,

But at least in my experience, it's actually kind of rare for people to truly like themselves.
