the Democrat Party is like the elites, the dependents, and then the Republican Party increasingly

is just everybody that doesn't fit into those two broad categorizations.

I don't know.

We have with us a very fun returning guest, Buck Sexton, co-host of Clay and Buck,

conservative pundant and commentator, dear friend of mine.

Buck, I'm excited to have you on because there's something I've been ruminating

for the last couple of months, and I think you're the perfect person to discuss this,

which is, I think the nature of conservatism is dynamically changing very quickly. And you're

someone who's been involved in this scene for quite some time, you guest-hosted for Rush Limbaugh,

which is no mean feat at a young age. And I think a lot of the baggage of contemporary

conservatism can be laid at Rush's feet, even though it's not his fault. Meaning he wouldn't be

saying the same things he's saying now, as he said in the 90s, but people who grew up on him haven't updated their programming, so they're repeating things he said in the 90s.

So I would just want to hear your thoughts because I feel like you're open-minded and your positions have shifted over the years, but you're still kind of have your finger in the pulse of this kind of mindset.

So I want to go through, go ahead.

You'd rather say something? No, no. I was waiting for, you know. So there's a few of this kind of

like boomer conservative ideas that are out there, some of which I find ridiculous, some of which I

find incorrect, but plausible. And I want to go through something with you and see like, do you think these things are still coherent or do you agree or so on and so forth?

Or maybe speak for the broader conservative movement in general.
