In the right-of-way Coleman Smith image of the Queen of Pentacles, an adult in a starched white dress and robes sits on a throne carved with fruit and monkeys and the horns of a ram,

and the cradle of golden pentacle peering into it, willing it to grow, much like the paintings of Mary holding the Christ child.

They wear a golden crown in the shape of a castle and a rooster crowing with a long green train, like a wedding train,

cradling their back like a pod of a pea. And since fabric was so expensive, historically, wedding trains were created to demonstrate opulence.

So there's an aura of opulence and abundance about this card, trellises of roses, climb, flowers bloom, tulips, fruit trees, grasses, fields of grain, a brown hair, the rabbit familiar of the witch,

nibbles, tender shoots in the foreground. In the hermetic order of the golden dawn, this card is called the queen of the thrones of the earth, the queen of gnomes.

In the thought deck, which is a deck that follows the tradition of the golden dawn, we see a person with round hips and breasts reclining on a pallet of earth-tone silks, and what is often referred to as a pineapple throne or a plant throne.

In one hand, they hold a golden orb and in the other a crystal wand, a crown of Ivex horns, twists from skull to sky.

They gaze out at a land that looks like the Nile Delta of river gushes weaving across the blinding desert sands dotted with an oasis palm trees.

It feels like the queen calls these oasis into being by the powers of their gaze.

And their familiar homophobia, the fierce gray goat mother of Jupiter stands on a golden sphere, ready to leap out and ram the quarent into awakening.

Come, a gray goat and come, a gray nanny, gray fur, yellow eyes and flight, I'm canny, I call your name as I mount you again by hoof and horn will fly over the plain.

We're about to fly across the worlds like Akasha, the vampire and queen of the damned, jutting up in the image of this card are great green gray wings like the bat wings Lucifer, which makes sense, of course, since the queen of pentacles was ruled by Capricorn and corresponds to the devil card in the major arcana.

This queen is both creator and destroyer, great horns, martial instinct, power drive, you do not want to mess with this person.

They are languorous yet fierce.

So the question is, who is the queen of pentacles and why have they come to us?
