Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

We are back in the warmth of our studio.

We are no longer in the Talk Radio tent of shame down on Westminster College Green,

but we are still very much focused on what is going on inside the Houses of Parliament and what is going on in the European Commission as well. Because I have to tell you, having watched

yesterday what went on in the corridors of power and in the chamber of the European Parliament.

I was absolutely and utterly dismayed, disgusted and debilitated to such an extent that I thought

there is absolutely no point in talking to these people. I said it yesterday. Theresa May should not

be going to Brussels with her begging bowl. She should be asking them to come to London with theirs.

And we're going to speak this morning to an MEP who I think agrees with me.

Daniel Hannan, of course, who's a Tory, very well spoken, very well up on this whole situation.

He's a man who says we should never have agreed to the Irish backstop.

We should never have even talked about Ireland.

We should never have agreed a whole host of things in the early stages of the negotiations with the European Union.

We were far too polite. We were far too deferential and we were far too willing to give in to everything they asked us to do.
