July 17th was the 30 year anniversary of Bruiser Brody's murder in Puerto Rico. It's been

30 years since Jose González allegedly stabbed Brody in the locker room shower before

that night's event. Brody died of his wounds and Jose was acquitted of murder charges in 1989.

So much controversy surrounding Brody's murder. And so today, one of my favorite guests,

Dave Meltzer returns after doing a podcast about himself for the first time. He's now returning

to Doody Does Best to share details. He remembers from covering and speaking to people about Brody's

death at the time and in the 30 years since it happened. We'll talk about why emergency crews took

so long to respond and actually get Brody to the hospital. We'll talk about some of the wrestlers

who were there at the time, Tony Atlas, Dutchman Tell, why they didn't testify at the trial. And how

Jose was able to get away with murdering Bruiser Brody. We're going to get into the Puerto Rican

wrestling scene. And of course, talk about Brody's career. He was huge in Japan and Puerto Rico.

And Vince McMahon, senior is the one who gave him his name when Vince brought him into Russell

Bruner's San Martino. Lots of stories about the life and death of Bruiser Brody. But before we
