Prince, but becoming part of the band was kind of hard.

Well, Prince took Mark in quickly.

As soon as he saw him, he knew, that's the guy I won.

He barely had to audition, but when he got to the first

rehearsal things got a little crazy.

So I kind of I mean I'm I'm slightly motivated to go in chronological order because your

book does but I want to leap to the story that had my jaw most on the ground and most gripped.

Your first rehearsal, you're doing your thing, and he kicked you in the butt really hard to where

you wanted to fight him. Please tell us that whole story.

Yeah.

The reason I thought it was even important

to even tell the story in the first place.

Because, you know, you could probably tell by reading it's not a Prince Bashing

book. Like a lot of people think it is you know it's just me telling a story

that I tell it truthfully yeah and so the whole reason that I even wanted to

tell it was because there's a lesson there, a great lesson that my mother taught me.

And that is you can get mad, stomp your feet, you can get huffy and puppyuffy, you can swell up and beat somebody down. But then you're

going to be back in McDonald's or wherever it is that, you know, 7-11 for me. Is that what you want or do you want to take this this one in a lifetime

to develop my own thing but there was no guarantee here this guy was

four or five years in front of me already and he already had a label deal he already had a following
