Summary

This week we're continuing our series, Going Against the Grain, with a very special guest! Brittney Spencer is a country singer-songwriter who resides in Nashville, TN. Her new “Compassion – EP” was released in 2020 and has become a viral hit and an anthem for change.

Today, Jessica and Brittney speak candidly about the decision to strike out as a professional musician, as well as the barriers that Black women in America face when trying to break into an industry in which they are notoriously underrepresented.
