centre of London. But before we get to today's story about a daring robbery, straight out the

movies, let's set some context for our story with our guest a month and year game. You ready?

Number one in the UK charts was everyone's favourites, A1, with same old brand new year.

In the US, arms wide open with Creed was number one, and in Australia it was St Bono and U2,

topping the album charts with all that you can't leave behind.

In the news this month, it was a controversial US presidential election

between George W. Bush and Al Gore, which was inconclusive,

with the result in Bush's favour, eventually decided by the Supreme Court.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones got married this year.

The Mighty League United signed Rio Ferdinand for a new record in the UK, 18 million pounds.

And in UK true crime news, Demiola Taylor, a 10-year-old boy, was stabbed to death on his way home from school in Peckham, South London.

At a third trial held six years later,

two teenagers were convicted of his manslaughter. So did you get the month and year? It was November

2000. You could well have been to the O2 Arena to enjoy a concert or other event, but it's hard to

recall that 25 years ago it was very different, that then it was just the Millennium Dome,

a sprawling white bowl on the banks of the River Thames. The land it was built on was a literal

wasteland full of toxic sludge, and according to convicted armed robber Noel Razor Smith,

it was a breeding ground for criminals who used the site to dump weapons and perhaps even bodies.
