Xiaomi's YU7 has had a huge amount of orders.

There's lots of numbers flying around about this.

It seems they had 289,000 orders in the first hour later reported to be 240,000 confirmed orders in the first 18 hours.

I think that's just to do with the amount of money that you put down and confirming your order,

not even like the full configuration, but if you were late to the party, you're going to be waiting until 2027.

They can make 300,000 vehicles a year when both of the phases of their factory at the new Xiaomi plant, Phase 2 is built,

but that's not going to be for a little while yet. And they've still got the SU7 to carry on

making in their first phase factory as well. Ford, say their new Michigan EV factory,

which will make LFP cells, will be

fully American. Not using, apart from the Chinese IP that they're licensing, they say that

no Chinese raw materials will be used on American soil. Clearly they're doing a big PR job there

because there's a lot of political pushback on Ford licensing, that CATL technology for

cheap LFP cells.

But they're saying no, it's American workers, American soil, American factory, American funding,

American raw materials, or at least non-Chinese raw materials in all cases.

EV charging costs are falling.

I got my email from Octopus Energy yesterday to say your energy will fall from next week, down 7% on average.

And of course, how much it falls depends on how much your usage is.

But it's at the same time that we have a geopolitical conflict with Iran threatening to close, the strait of Hummus.

And either way, oil prices have been going up
