And I'm joined with my colleague, Colin Miller, who's an associate dean and professor at the University of South Carolina

School of Law, and he's also the blog editor of the Evidence Prof blog. Now I know our listeners

are expecting episode 12 to be dropped today, and believe me, we did everything in our power to make

that happen. We will be releasing episode 12 later this week. We are working on it as fast as we can.

Just as a reminder, this episode is going to feature a group of men who are incarcerated

who have been following Adnan's case.

They've listened to serial.

They've listened to undisclosed.

And it's really a remarkable discussion to listen into.

Part of the issue here, of course, is there are security

clearance concerns when you're recording a group of inmates and then making that public. So we're

just trying to get clearance on a couple of things from the warden, and then we'll be good to go.

In the interim, though, we really wanted to be able to respond to the state's brief that was filed last week, and the

brief was filed in response to Adnan's motion to reopen his post-conviction proceedings.

This brief has a lot of stuff included in it.

There's a lot to unpack there.

So Colin and I are going to take today's little explainer and basically unpack what is in

the state's brief. And later this week, we promise you are going to get episode 12. Yeah, so contextualizing
