I'm Martha McCallum, and I'm really pleased to be joined by my elections co-anchor, Brett Bear.

And Brett, you know, it's interesting to sort of take, I want to take a little bit of a big picture look at what's going on with the midterm elections because over the past several

days, it feels like there's a little bit of a momentum shift. And you have a lot of people writing

stories about how in a lot of these races, Democrats are sort of narrowing some of the gaps.

What's your sense of what's going on big picture?

Good to be here.

I think, listen, I think there has been a shift.

And we talked about it the other day on the story.

And that is, you know, Democrats felt this real push in the wake of the Dobbs decision,

overturning Roe v. Wade, that they had this issue.

And you looked at something like Kansas and an effort to change the state constitution there that fell short and the pro-choice side of it won big in a place like Kansas.

And you looked at the legislation that was passing up on Capitol Hill and we're waiting

for what they call the Inflation Reduction Act, which obviously a lot of critics say is not.

So they looked at legislative victories and a complete turnaround and felt like the momentum was their
