So Rebecca, you got a question for me.

0:02.3

Yeah.

0:03.1

A client came with this question for me, and I had part of the answer, but I thought you would have a better answer.

0:10.2

So their question was someone I know was arrested.

0:15.0

Instead of going to jail, they went to Western State, a psychiatric hospital here in Stilicum, Washington, is that something that

0:22.9

just kind of happens?

0:24.3

And I was like, no, that's, it's really hard to get in the Western state.

0:28.5

So I did a little research.

0:30.1

western state hospital yeah they're expensive yeah so that's like 0.3% of the incarcerated population is

Yeah.

1:14.7

Yeah. So that's one vector. Another is that you're found insane at the time of the crime or you don't have the capacity to stand trial because of a psychiatric, usually psychosis, right?

1:27.1

So those are typical vectors to get you

1:30.9

into Washington State Hospital. And like how many professionals would evaluate you? Oh, in my head,

1:38.4

anecdotally, with the limited experience I have, it's, you know, it's two or three by the time you're

1:43.1

actually officially incarcerated you know because you

1:46.5

have the initial evaluation and then there might be a trial and there might be another evaluation

1:54.0

and if it's a trial trial then you might have evaluations from either side you know plaintiff and
