So you see this concept of doing it for the art.

Like, you know that whole thing of I had to break my heart for my art?

I knew that it would make a compelling story.

So I had to put myself in this situation so that I could get a great

song at the other end of it. I have concerns and qualms with that. I think Adele is someone

that talks about that a lot in her work. And you know what? Fair place to Adele because she's

making multi-millions off of putting herself in them situations.

But do I endorse that behaviour?

No.

The reason I take issue with this whole idea of doing it for your art, doing it for the plot,

doing it so you have a strong story to tell is,

why do men deserve to access you despite not being equipped and you tell yourself that you're benefiting because you're getting artistic inspiration out of this loser?

That is... because you're getting artistic inspiration out of this loser. That doesn't sit well with me. I don't like that.

I hate it as an excuse. I hate it as a concept.

I just wish everyone will stop doing that.

It's very different to being in a situation with a man where genuinely,

according to your best possible judgment at the time,

this is someone who you believe is good for you

and then things become tricky in the relationship and you're documenting that artistically,

whether that's through music or through any other kind of artistic output.

That's kind of different because you didn't go into that relationship

acknowledging that it's a bad relationship
