Dr. Joyce, Karka, thank you so much for joining us today. You are the author of an incredible

new book, Her Freedom Journey, A Guide Out of Porn and Shame to Authentic Intimacy. And you are

probably not a stranger to The Girl to Find Sisterhood. I've had many conversations on different

platforms with you. We've done lives. We've just loved the work that you're doing over at

authentic intimacy. And this book, Her Freedom Journey, A Guide Out of Porn doing over at Authentic Intimacy.

And this book, Her Freedom Journey, A Guide Out of Porn and Shame to Authentic Intimacy for women, might take some of the sisterhood off guard.

Like, whoa, I've never seen a book specifically for women on porn and shame.

So I would love to just kick off this conversation by you introducing yourself and letting

us know what compelled you personally to want to write a book

for women on finding freedom from pornography. Well, thanks, Bethany. You are such a cheerleader,

and you've been supportive since day one. So thank you for inviting me into your community,

your sisterhood. And yes, I've been around the block. And this book really is the book I wanted when I was

walking through my own personal struggle with pornography, unwanted sexual behavior, sexual

shame. There are other books that exist. There are a few, not that many for women struggling

with these things, a couple of them. But this was exactly

what I would have needed back then. And so that's kind of what gave me the passion. God took

my pain and my story and made me want to help other women so that they wouldn't feel alone.

Because that's one of the biggest things with someone who struggles with this, especially

Christian women, because historically

we haven't talked about this, right? And so so many women just feel alone and that shame is

isolating. So I've wanted them to know, hey, other women are struggling too.
