Hey guys, big news from the Supreme Court today.

We have an update on an investigation into what the court is calling one of the worst breaches

of trust in its history.

This is regarding the leak of an early draft opinion on a very consequential abortion case

that the decision has since changed abortion law in America. Back in early May,

before that decision was handed down to the entire country, there was a leak of the opinion.

That leak wound up in Politico, Big Washington, D.C. outlet and was spread all over the world.

The justices, the chief justice had to come out, confirm that it was indeed an actual draft of the opinion. And this was unprecedented in a lot of ways. But since that time, there's been a question, who leaked it? Who leaked this document? And how do we prevent that from happening again? So this is an update from the court into the investigation into who did it.

The big headline, the big takeaway is that we don't know.

And the update actually raises a lot more questions.

So what I did is I read through this report.

I have a couple key takeaways for you and a couple key questions.

And this will be a developing story. We just got this. So over the next several hours, maybe even in the next several days, I expect that maybe we could learn a little bit more.

But hopefully this will provide a little foundation for you. Why does this matter? Why does the leak even matter?

Let's talk about this for a second. Remember, we have three equal branches of government,

the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. We tend not to talk about

the Supreme Court as much constantly in our new cycle until their decisions start really coming out. We talk a lot more

about elected lawmakers in Congress. We hear a lot more from the White House. But we can't forget

the importance of the courts. The courts are here, and the Supreme Court being the highest court

in the land, to make sure that our laws are following the Constitution, the founding document of America.

That's a really important job. And so the deliberations over these cases really matter because
