Liverpool Football Club and the rest of the English teams involved in the controversial plans to form a European Super League have

Tonight withdrawn their proposals in a major victory for fans who've lobbied against the ideas.

Manchester City were the first estate state that they'd withdrawn,

and it took another few hours for the rest to follow,

with Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham,

all announcing their intentions at the same time.

A statement from the club with no name on there or any kind of reference to supporters or an apology

was posted much to the relief of Liverpool fans around the globe.

The statement read, Liverpool Football Club can confirm that our involvement in the proposed plans to

former European Super League has been discontinued.

In recent days the club has received representations from various key stakeholders both internally and externally and we would like to thank them for their valuable contributions.

We're recording this after 11 PM.m. UK time. We'll have plenty more across Blood Red and the
