Last week, commemoration of the January 6th attack on the Capitol made clear that the wound inflicted on this nation by Donald Trump and his Maga brown shirts is still painfully raw.

In fact, one could argue that things have gotten worse, much worse.

Well, there isn't armed insurrection in the street.

Trump has only strengthened his grip on the Republican Party to the point where he has

become a cartoon despot.

Everything was going beautifully. And then the election got rigged and stolen from the American

people. Anger over a rigged election that got that many people to go to DC.

A tiny percentage, and I mean tiny, like less than 1% went to the Capitol.

We are drowning in lies in venom.

Love that day.

There was so much love out there during the speech.

For most of his first year in office, President Biden has bet that he could move the country

past the divisiveness of his predecessor by restoring a sense of normalcy to the White House, practicing the traditional

brand of politics he learned over decades in the Senate and as vice president, and largely

ignoring the man he refers to as the former guy. He was fucking wrong. But finally, there was some relief and political payback.
