Retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, folks, when we covered the story, of course, in San Bernardino,

under that horrible tragedy in the desert, we called it rather early that we felt that it

involved drugs right away.

And then as we're learning more and more about the San Bernardino area and how prevalent

what they refer to as marijuana grows, how prevalent that is, it was amazing to me and baffling

to me that the press didn't understand what was going on very early. For days and days and days, they were

reporting this as basically no information, and they were baffled by this. This was a mystery.

But this area has a huge problem with, they refer to as marijuana grows,

which are illegal marijuana fields, underground fields,

hot houses filled with marijuana.

And the sheriff Dykes went over how many search warrants they had done over 400 in a

365 day period in 2023 and the amount of marijuana they had seized and the amount of money

I believe it was over $360 million was seized.

So under that playing field and realizing how profitable the illicit marijuana trade is,

we're going to discuss tonight Proposition 64, which is a law that was enacted in 2016 that made marijuana

legal in the state of California. And that's fine. Everyone here, I don't think anyone has a

problem with people smoking marijuana or medicinal marijuana or whatever they're using it for.

But it's really not a drug that is harmless or has harmless side effects or unintended,
