Just when the GOP thought it was safe to reclaim the moral high ground,

Madison Cawthorne emerges with a wild tale of cocaine-fueled orgies at the highest levels of the Republican establishment.

In an interview last week with the Warrior Poets Society podcast,

Cawthorne was asked whether the hit television show House of Cards

was an accurate reflection of life in the nation's capital.

Cawthorne responded by talking about the sexual perversion that goes on in Washington and suggested

that he had been invited to an orgy by an unnamed lawmaker.

Corthon also claimed that he had witnessed unnamed prominent figures in Washington doing cocaine. The sexual perversion that goes on in Washington, I mean, being kind of a young guy in Washington, but the average age is probably 60 or 70. And I look at all these people, a lot of them that I, you know, I've looked up to through my life, I've always paid attention to politics, guys that, you know, then all of a sudden you get get invited to like, well, hey, we're going to have kind of a sexual get together at one of our homes. You should come. And I'm like, what did you just ask me when you come to? And then you realize they're asking you to come to an orgy. Or the fact that, you know, there's some of the people that are leading on the movement to try and remove addiction in our country.

And then you watch them do it, you know, keep up with cocaine right in front of you.

And it's like, this is, this is wild.

The backlash towards Cawthorne and the pearl clutching from outrage GOP House members has been fierce.

This morning, Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorne under fire for members in his own party,

after presumably linking GOP lawmakers to sex parties and cocaine.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has rebuked Congressman Madison Cawthorn over his eye-popping claims about sex and drugs on Capitol Hill.
