All right, welcome back or welcome to the single track podcast joined by friend, colleague in the space, Tom Hooper for a special episode related to the Team USA Long Trail announcement.

Tom, I think before we get started, well, this has been a hilarious day because you and I, I guess we're Kirsch.

We've tried to do numerous podcasts in the bast and have been plagued by technical difficulties, including today, which was insane.

But introduce yourself to the audience. Like, what's your, what's your background as it relates to

race directing and then to the world's team here? Yeah, I'm the owner of 603 endurance. I put on

nine races in New Hampshire, but I'm also part of USATF. It's a volunteer

position, a volunteer based position. But we, I'm part of the committee that does selection

races and selection of the of the team, of the U.S. team for the worlds. And I think that the best place to start is just around the course, like where Team

USA is headed in September 2025.

Take a minute to sort of describe what they have.

Yeah, we're headed there.

September 27th, the course is an 82K or a 51 mile race with a little over 5,400 feet of vert,

sorry, 5,400 meters or 18,000 feet of vert. It's in the Pyrenees. I know a lot of us have

never run there, so we're not 100% sure on what the, on what the trails are going to look like.

So we're pretty excited about that.

Yeah, the September 27th thing is kind of important when this comes to the selection races and the selection of the team, just because it's only one month away from UTMB.
