Hello there and happy Monday, I'm Rosie Acosta, a podcaster, author and a meditation teacher

here at Headspace.

And I'm excited to say that this is my very first episode hosting Radio Headspace.

Now I know we talk a lot about setting intentions and mindfulness and since it's February that

means a lot of people's New Year's resolutions are either hanging by a thread or have stopped

completely.

When we fall into the routines of our lives, especially with important things like work,

school and family obligations, it's easy to put our goals and dreams on the back burner.

We may occasionally bring to mind ideas we want to come to fruition and have the best

intentions to start tomorrow, but what if today is tomorrow?

So this week, I'll be exploring the idea of progress and share some tips to tap into

our most inspired selves without the judgment.

Today let's talk about the process of creativity and how we can make a pathway to something new.

I grew up in East Los Angeles and to me, LA will always be the most perfect expression

of creativity and impermanence.

It's rough, transient and routinely demolished, but all that gives the city great character.

Not long ago on a day I was experiencing some writer's block.

I decided to go for a stroll down one of the streets I grew up in.

As I walked, I realized that all of my great ideas seemed to arrive at the most inopportune

moment, when I'd be stuck in traffic, when I was in the middle of a conversation, or when

I was midmeditation.

All moments were pulling out my no pad was too much work.
