And today, the topic is building a badass ambassador program.

In honor of Morning Brew's ambassador program

coming back to life after a year or two hiatus. Let's hop into it.

Give me a brief history. We used to do it when we were at school. We did it for a little bit after.

What, why is it back? What are we doing?

Fun fact, when Morning Brew was first growing in, let's call it 2015, it was just Austin and

myself. The cost of the business was about $ hundred dollars a month that's what we were paying for mail chimp to send our newsletters out

We didn't have any money so paid marketing was not an option and so our biggest growth driver for the first year at least of the

business was an ambassador program and the concept was this we had a couple

thousand readers our belief was that we were creating a good enough product for those couple

thousand readers to really enjoy what we were doing and at the time we had just

been focusing marketing at Michigan where Austin and I would go to every business class, business club, and any other

student group possible to pitch morning brew, pass around a sheet of paper, ask students

to put down their email address if they were interested

in signing up, we would do that over and over and over.

And so what Austin I thought to ourselves is, okay, how can we scale ourselves because we're not

about to do a college road show?

And so the idea was mobilize the people who are non-Michigan readers to be our biggest
