There's a big story that came out of the beer world, and it was that Mickelope Ultra is now the number one beer in the United States of America.

Did that news surprise you?

It did surprise me, and the first thing we did was try to find a guy.

Well, you know, we always got a guy.

No matter what the topic is, the Kendall and Casey Show has a guy, and we've got a guy.

Brad Koppenstein has worked in the beer industry for decades and knows it better than anybody else I know.

Yeah, so let's get him on the WIBC hotline and get his take on this.

Brad, Mick Ultra, now the number one selling beer in the United States.

Your thoughts?

It's interesting. It's inevitable. However,

it's almost kind of like a race to the bottom. Oh, interesting. Why do you say that? Well,

beer sales are down overall, about 5% I think this year. And so it's not so much that Mick Ultra

is increasing drastically. It's that Medelo has really started to fall off.

Okay.

Now, I saw in this report that it's not by sales.

It's by volume that Mick Ultra is number one.

That is correct.

So if you look out there, so domestic beer, Bud Light, Miller Light, Coors Light,

those are all going to run you $20 to $25 a case. McAultra is going to be $25 to $30. It's a little higher,

but Modelo is going to come in more like $35 a case. So just by pure dollar volume,

Modelo still is the leader just because they have a higher

per case price. But if you're just looking at pure barrels, it is now Mick Ultra. So, Brad, where
