Summary

After years of testing multiple bows, Aron divulges the many factors that led to his ultimate favorite. Cody Greenwood also joins the podcast to lend his technical expertise through his own research testing multiple bows. Bow Tests: Traditional tackle is not readily available for Archers to pick up and test locally. My goal is to provide Archers with unbiased quality information that helps them make a well educated choice and pick a bow that fits their needs. I have chosen metrics associated with Ergonomics, Performance and Sound to highlight the compromises within each Bowyer design. I have worked hard to make sure my testing results are accurate and repeatable. If you see a error or flaw feel free to contact me, I will correct it. My goal is to continuously improving myself as an Archer, the Archery Community and our Sport. The Trad Community at its core is made up of selfless people that help one another. I hope this effort maintains that spirit and adds value. God Bless, Cody Greenwood KifaruBecome a Patron!

Welcome back to CarfaroCast everyone. I've been gone for a couple weeks just getting back so I'm sorry we're behind on the podcast and I wanted to do on this podcast Frank is actually doing some real live work and he really doesn't care about recurve so I wanted to finally finish up my my bow review.

0:17.0

This has been going on really for probably two years I've tested multiple bows for long periods of time which is kind of weird for people at times to see me swap from another one bow to another every few months but it is what it is and from to me to get a true test it takes a lot of 300 rounds animals on the ground a lot of weather variations and you can't do that in a short period of time.

0:43.0

I brought Cody Greenwood with the Trad Lab on Trad Lab on with me Cody what's going on good Cody he has unique perspectives that I don't look at with this he gets a little bit deeper in the weeds on some things can explain things better and knows some things better so it's I want him on here with me when we're talking about this as we're doing the review we will talk about things that are different than the actual different bow perspectives meaning we're probably going to dive into string with you.

1:12.0

I've been to string materials a little bit tuning a little bit limb length riser length when it's applicable to each bow we're talking about so people walk away from this knowing that just because the you know I'm in there will be a winner with this for me and Cody can throw us two cents on all that and for me I've got a few categories one is basically the the best in my opinion or my preference for a custom bow.

1:41.0

My preference for what I would say the most underrated bow is and in my overall winner between all of them between I.L.F. custom bows and like that the reason why I chose it and I may have chosen over something else and this boils down to a lot of different things meaning if I have two I.L.F. risers they both shoot identical in one's ugly I'm going to choose the better looking one because I have no reason to shoot an ugly bow.

2:09.0

If I have two I.L.F. risers that are both badass looking in my opinion but one of them is more expensive or one of them comes from overseas that may be the loser because of its more of a pain in the butt so I will explain that so people understand that it's not the shootability of the bow it's other issues not the shootability also what when I'm talking about this I want to make sure and cover the highs and lows so when I say highs and lows

2:38.0

ingr for example your weight in two years awesome bow but you got a longer wait time those are the things I'm talking about is pros and cons Cody got anything to add to that no I think you had

2:52.0

you've covered it really well. One thing that you may want to dive into before you get

2:57.3

into the bows because if you're open to it, but I'm not sure people understand it as

3:02.1

how long it takes you to get a feel for a bow. For me, it's at least 3,300 rounds. So when

3:08.7

folks are trying out bows at like a conference event, and I like it, I didn't like it. I'm

3:13.5

often surprised, because I learn how to shoot a bow, how much it changes. I didn't know

3:17.9

if you're the same as I could not. I can't just get a feel for it in 15 minutes at my point.

3:22.3

Yeah, and I think there will be some bows you grab, and you're like, man, I really like

3:26.2

that bow. That's usually because of the grip from what I found, or the length of the bow,

3:31.4

if you're drawing a 58 inch and a 62 inch bow back, that's not really a fair comparison.

3:37.0

But if you like the grip of a specific bow, pretty much all bowyers and I-LF bows can

3:45.5

mimic that specific grip. Like you have our core, yager for the I-LF bows, or I'm sure

3:51.5

there's plenty of others as far as custom grips. And then you can- every boy or ideal with

3:56.9

they get tons of photos or a riser from me saying match this grip, because the grip is

4:02.6

a lot more important than I think people realize as far as shootability and consistency

4:06.8

and accuracy. But I agree with you. It takes a while before it comes in extension of your
