We have just returned from our second field trip.

This time, the History Chicks took 40 listeners to Boston to go over some sites that were

important to us in previous episodes.

It was very exciting.

This trip did not experience the delays that the London trip had.

In addition to the sites in Boston, we also took a few days to go to Newport where all the

beautiful, gilded-age cottages are.

So it all begins on T-minus two days.

Many others had the same idea.

This was a weird trip for me in that I went to college just south of Boston.

I spent many weekends in Newport as a kid, so it was all familiar to me.

But the things that we went to do I had never done.

So I was just wondering at the very beginning how that would flesh out.

But one thing I had never done is gone to Salem, Massachusetts.

And since it was October, I thought it would be a great idea to take the ferry from Boston

to Salem for the day.

There was a street festival going on in Salem, and there was an arts and crafts festival
