It's another day in hell for Theresa May as she heads over to Brussels for a series of pointless meetings with people who care not a job for the hard work she's doing, for the situation she is in or for the people of the country she represents.

Yesterday's outbursts from Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, followed by Guy Verhofstadt, who hopefully added that if Brexiters did end up in hell, they would probably divide it, have not been terribly

helpful to the whole process, although some people today are saying they are working as the best

recruitment sergeants that Brexiteers could ever possibly want. Two weeks ago, I said there was

no point in Theresa May I go to Brussels, only to experience more humiliation and absolutely no new concessions.

At 11 o'clock, she's meeting with Jean-Claude Juncker.

It's always best to see him before lunch.

But seriously, what is the point of it all?
