Welcome to the Sports Motivation podcast. This is your host, Nees Showbo. Today is another episode of Books and Bars, and I'm going to be breaking down a bar today, all right? But for those of you who are just tuning in to this particular section on the Sports Motivation podcast or segment, if you will, I want to explain how I came up with this idea for books and bars. So you guys know I read a lot.

0:22.1

I believe reading is very important.

0:23.9

Anyone who's not reading, I don't really trust you.

0:26.1

I'm just going to be honest because that means you're not learning fast enough.

0:29.0

There's too many, it's too easy to read from a book and get knowledge and improve.

0:34.6

So that's first, right?

0:35.9

And you hear me talk about books all the time,

0:42.5

and of course I break them down. But not only do I like books, I also love rap music, all right? Hip-hop.

0:46.4

I'm a huge hip-hop fan. I don't really like a lot of other genres of music. I'm just to be honest. I listen to a little bit of R&B. That's really about it. And I've tried a lot of other genres just didn't stick.

0:54.9

So that's that.

0:57.1

And the reality is that I feel like hip hop a lot of time gets a bad rap.

1:02.3

And what I mean by bad rap is, no pun intended, is people don't pay attention to what rappers are really saying. They only pay attention to certain

1:13.0

parts. They don't listen to the truth, to the power, and the knowledge and the wisdom that

1:20.9

a lot of these rappers are lacing into their lyrics and it's just amazing and I love it. All right? So I'm gonna be breaking down a bar today.

1:29.1

Now today, the artist who dropped this song with these bars in it is Young M.A.

1:36.3

All right, no, Young M.A. is a Brooklyn rapper.

1:38.3

She is from New York, obviously, and I believe one of the best out right now. I'm just going to be

1:45.7

honest. And I know in hip hop is very subjective. It's much like food. You have your own

1:50.9

types of food that you like. And the type that I like, I'm more of an East Coast type of dude

1:57.3

in terms of the influence of rap that I like. She's cold, man. And I can't wait for

2:03.6

the next album to come out. I know it's coming soon. And I've broken down a few of her

2:07.4

freestyles before, and we're going to be breaking down another one today. All right. So this is
