This is a special episode.

We're actually recording this, what is it, Thursday, November 13th, but I think it's going to go out some time around Thanksgiving.

For those of us, for those that are not joining us live.

Because this is, again, a somewhat unusual thing for us.

We are, we're sitting here with 25 of our closest friends.

We've got Tobrat, Sarah, Jeff.

I'm going to just read up the thing right now.

And we're going to be book clubbing it with this book.

The Frick. The freak? The Frick. The Frick, the Frick.

The Frick.

Pretty sure it's that, which is a, not quite slang, but close to it.

It means money in French.

And this book is a deep, deep, deep dive and fascinating dive into the Amory family.

And I think a lot of you will probably recognize that name because that name is part of the company that basically controls professional cycling, the Amory Sport Organization.

And they have since, as we found out in the book,

basically the end of World War II. They have really, well, they've been the family behind

the Torda France through thick and thin, highs and lows. And these days, with the way that

the sort of the cycling landscape is today, they are unquestionably the most powerful entity in the sport.

In fact, I was recently working on a sort of like top 20 power list with Chris Marshall Bell, one of our contributors.

And the top three are all the Amaris with Madame Maria Diel at the very top of that list.

And that wasn't just from Chris and I.
