We had an interview planned with a guest, and then events intervened,

and Jake was pulled out into the streets of his city to cover the unfolding uprisings happening

in Los Angeles, which you probably heard on the other episode this week.

Really interesting stuff, and I have for you, if you are sensing that you need a

little bit more balance in your life, now we have kind of the exact opposite of that. That happened

on the West Coast, and I'm talking about something that happened on the East Coast, which, again,

is essentially the exact opposite of everything going on in Los Angeles right now.

And that is Welcome Fest, which occurred in Washington, D.C. recently. It has been described,

actual thing people have said, it's been described as the centrist Coachella. So obviously,

many mind-numbing things went on here, but also some pretty funny,

as well as a few interesting things that we're going to talk about today with a really

young and sharp writer who covered it and is going to be talking to me. Without further ado,
