Okay, so I'm doing a little bit of a PS in this episode.

We've released it and you, some of you got really confused because in our

community and with this podcast for many many years I've always told you I do not believe in

telling you whether you should stay or go. When I was married to an addict, I know everyone told me if I shared with them my information,

you know, you should leave him, you should leave him and judged me for staying.

So when I started this, I thought,

I'm never gonna be that girl.

I'm never gonna be that woman that pressures anyone to leave.

But it has been drawn to my attention, brought to my attention that this episode when I said,

you should leave if you have children and they are living in a house that is unsafe.

A lot of people were like, wait a second, did you go back on your word, Michelle?

I thought you said you'd never tell us to leave.

All right here's the truth and I'm I break it down so I can help clarify what I meant behind that.

And I'm gonna start with a story.

Back in the day, when I was married

to a really good man who suffered from addiction I would try to get us to go to a couple therapy

and he had just gotten back from rehab in Malibu where all the stars go.

And one of the suggestions they had for post treatment and to help maintain his sobriety is to get him into long-term therapy,

to continue working on himself.

And the other suggestion was couples therapy.
