I'm sitting in Birmingham, Alabama, where we are shooting the third season of the Guns and Gear television show.

This is the show that airs on Versus.

And that network, by the way, is is changing its name we don't even know what

it's going to be called in the next couple of months something like nbc sports or versus nbc sports

or versus powered by nbc sports we don't know exactly but guns and gear is in its third season

and what we do in birmingham this is the studio portion of the shoot.

We bring in people from different gun companies, and we interview them in the studio, and they bring their cool stuff,

and we show the guns and the optics and the gear and talk about it here.

And then later on, we take it out to the range and shoot it and show it off at the range also.

So last night, it was just one of those times when we had finished up the day shooting with

one major gun company and another major gun company had come in and we'll be shooting with them today.

And so we took them all out to dinner.

But what was interesting is I think maybe we have a new norm, and that's something I've

come up with, and I was telling them, because historically, the gun industry in sales have seen

a lot of bumps back in 1994 with the advent of the Clinton gun ban, also called the assault weapons ban,

gun sales went up.

And there was a lot of thought that the gun sales of AR-15-style rifles jumped up when Barack Obama was running for and then elected to president.

And that's certainly true.
