helpful support to those impacted by the devastating flooding that happened over the weekend

in central Texas.

My name is Dr. Elizabeth McIngbell, and I'm the director of the OCD Institute here in Texas,

where we specialize in using cognitive behavioral therapy to treat anxiety disorders, which

of course also includes trauma.

CBT is the most evidence-based intervention for trauma, and we know that it is an intervention

that can help individuals not just be able to process the trauma,

but be able to get unstuck and live full lives despite experiencing trauma.

What we know is that this weekend's flooding will have a lasting impact on families and communities for decades to come,

and we are here to support you through it.

Today we're joined by the world-renowned Dr. Bruce Perry, who is a

leading expert in trauma response, how we can respond appropriately, and of course how we help

individuals live through cope and move through traumatic experiences. We're so excited to have him

today on the podcast and to provide insight, education, and support.
