Hey, this is Tom Gresham, and this is a bonus podcast of Gun Talk.

Okay, this one's going to be fairly short.

This is me nagging you, okay?

Well, nagging myself too. We all know we need to do this. We all know that we need a good record of our firearms. You need to have insurance, of course. If you don't have insurance,

remember that your homeowner's insurance probably does not cover all your guns.

There's usually a limit of something like $2,000 on your homeowners

for covering firearms. And you start looking at your guns and your optics, scopes,

acogs, red dots, whatever you have, and it adds up pretty fast.

The NRA has good firearms insurance, and you can get that.

It's a pretty good price.

In order for you to be able to take advantage of the insurance, you need a record.

Now, you don't have to submit a record of your serial numbers and all that with the NRA insurance.

Now, with the other policies you might.

But it would be a very good idea for you to have a good record of everything.

Here's my suggestion.

Now that we've got cameras cameras on all our phones this becomes really really easy.

I would suggest shooting a video and here's why.

Run the camera, have somebody run the camera for you is going to be the way to go, I think.

Although you might be able to do it yourself.

And just get video and narrate it as you're going.

So you're taking the picture of your firearm and look, turn on the lights, get a lot of good light on it so you can get detail.

Then you can move the camera right down to the model number and talk about it.
