Last month on Gender Conceal, we spoke with Nico Stratus, who I'm sure you also already know.

Nico is a prolific writer and poster. She publishes a blog called Anxiety Shark.

She is a co-founder

of Girl Dad Press and co-editor of Two Trans Too Furious and the upcoming sex change in the city.

And most importantly, Nico is the author of The Dad Rock that Made Me a Woman, an essay collection

that was released in May by University of Texas Press. By the way, I keep accidentally calling that book The Girl

Dead Rock that made me a woman, and I just need to know, should we make hats that say Girl

Dad Rock? Please let me know. I'm serious. Anyway, Nico and I have known each other for many years.

We literally file taxes together for our LLC, and yet we had never met in person until last month

when Nico is in town for book tour and managed to sneak off to my house for an hour. And how did we

spend that one wild and precious hour? Well, of course, we made a podcast. I really love this

episode. I think it's an all-timer. The first half of the episode is like classic

gender reveal, gender-conceal vibes. I asked Nico about her book. We talk about grizzly bears,

you know, the usual. However, in the second half of the episode, things get really wild. We start

talking about songs that appear in Nico's book, and then we talk about some of our favorite covers and about some

rare MP3s that we still have in our laptops. And I ended up just going really nuts in the

edit and adding, I think, 16 different musical clips to the interview. So all that is to say
